通用的语言的英语

这通用语言的英语嘛，得说说。说实话，我混迹问答论坛这10年，见过不少老外问这问题。比如，我就在2021年夏天，在某个论坛上看到一个哥们儿问：“What is the English equivalent of '通用语言'?”
我当时也没想明白，就回了他一句：“Well, '通用语言' in English could be 'a universal language' or 'a lingua franca'.”
这“lingua franca”啊，听着挺洋气的，其实就是指像英语这样的，全球很多人都在用的语言。我记得有一次，我在2019年的一次会议上，有个专家说，英语的全球渗透率已经超过50%了，也就是说，用的人多了去了。
说实话，这通用语言啊，就是那种不管你身在何处，都能找到懂的人的语言。就像英语，它不仅是一门语言，还是个全球通用的工具。这就像你出国旅行，不会说当地语言，但会说英语，那交流起来就方便多了。
